Nuasin Next Generation Charter School is in search of motivated, mission-aligned individuals that want to join us in providing the scholars and families of the Highbridge section of the Bronx  with the truly excellent school they need and deserve.  We are looking for educators that believe in the talent and intellectual capabilities of our scholars.  We are looking for educators that are excited to engage and ignite our scholars in deep intellectual engagement of great ideas, problem-solving activities, and a complex understanding of our academic content.  Nuasin is a school and community that cares about your why and expects you to bring passion, commitment, and respect to our scholars on a daily basis.  Below is a description of the teaching positions that are currently available.  Please reply to this email or contact us if Nuasin is the right place for you. 

The anticipated salary range is $65,000.00 to $70,000.00 for a candidate who will work in New York City. The salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience to the job, education, and certifications.

Onboarding

  • Support the Manager of Talent Acquisition and Marketing to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new employees.
  • Create an account for all new employees in our PEO.
  • Ensure the accuracy of data entered into our PEO
  • Create new staff accounts in or clockin device  as well as assign and set up fingerprinting and swipe card accesses.
  • Follow the new staff onboarding tracker through to completion for each new hire; this includes sending the hire packet, creating staff emails, creating physical staff files, etc.
  • Ensure authorized documentation for the completion of the I9 form is received and filed.

Payroll

  • Ensure that all time off and leaves are accounted for are accurate and timely.
  • Own all data in the clockin System.
  • Ensure all employees are set up with an account and fingerprint for the Clocking in System.
  • Provide all Backup documentations to financial company for payroll runs.
  • Keep Financial company updated with employee salary and stipend changes as well as staffing changes within 48 hours. 
  • Assist financial company with editing and submission of payroll. 
  • Own the accuracy of TriNet platform, ensuring that all updates are inputted into TriNet within 24 hours of the notification of change. 

Accounts Payable

  • Ensure the accuracy of all order requests before inputting them into Avid.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all invoices before submitting them into Quickbooks for payment. 
  • Own the accuracy of the Operations, K-8 and 9-12 budget trackers and ensure 100% accuracy of the data maintained within.
  • Ensure to report any potential overages as reflected from the budget trackers to both the Manager of Operations and the Managing Director of Operations as soon as such overages or projections of such are realized. 
  • Ensure that incoming invoices that are emailed and/or mailed to the school are inputted correctly into Avid and Quickbooks within 48 hours of receipt.

Compliance: 

  • Complete all staff and organizational reporting at least 5 business days before the due date to allow for final audit and on-time submission.
  • Own all staff-facing data entries into compliance documents and portals for the City, DOE, State, and Federal governments.  
  • Ensures the compliance efforts to the city and the state in regards to all reporting including but not limited to attendance information, scholar information, staff information and facilities information.  
  • Complete all board meetings and committee meeting minutes. Ensure OML compliance.
  • Ensure employee files are maintained accurately and updated when necessary.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance of the I-9 binder. 
  • Ensure scholar files are maintained accurately and updated when necessary

Leadership

  • Supports the  Manager of Operations in securing the main lobby of the school during arrivals daily.
  • Run the parent pick-up portion of dismissal daily.
  • Support the  Manager of Operations in following up and ensuring that operations team members are on task and following up on their task lists daily. 
  • Manage projects as assigned from planning to completion and review, with quality.
  • Support the Manager of Operations with team development and support. 
  • Support  Manager of Operations with facilities duties including but not limited to building walkthroughs, and fire alarm assistance.
  • Act as the operations leader when the Manager of Operations is not present or available.
  • Act as a leader of operations in all spaces of school operations including culture and  instructional meetings. 

Operations

  • Effectively communicates with families. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned 
  • Knowledge of office equipment such as computers, printers, copiers, and fax machines.
  • Support scholars and families with technology troubleshooting. 
  • Enters a variety of data into data trackers and excel spreadsheets.
  • Greet all visitors and control access to the school.
  • Serve as gatekeeper to address questions and minimize interruptions of the school administration and instructional teams.
  • Set the tone for the school's warm and professional culture.
  • Answer phone calls, direct calls, take messages, place outgoing calls, make public address announcements, sending robocalls.
  • Ensure the school's main office environment is at all times clean, neat, organized, and orderly.
  • Collect and maintain forms and other records, securing missing forms, and ensure the confidentiality of all scholar records. 
  • Using the SIS and other systems to maintain and update all scholar contact/demographic information
  • Process late scholar arrivals and following up with families of absent scholars.
  • Ensure scholars leave only with authorized parents or guardians.
  • Ensure memos, notices, and other school-specific documents are delivered, collected from classrooms and processed daily.
  • Occasionally assist the school nurse with the handling of sick scholars.
  • Assist Manager of Operations with special/time-sensitive projects throughout the year, including but not limited to: summer inventory, school year startup, scholar enrollment, assemblies, and end of year closeout.
  • Update dismiss sheets daily for classrooms and distributes to staff.
  • Other duties as designated by the Managing Director of Operations to ensure operational excellence.
